The region between Alicante and Murcia or the southern part of the Costa Blanca and the northern part of the Costa Calida is a small paradise of mild temperatures. The hilly hinterland protects this area against the wind of the Meseta, and temperatures through the year are pleasant: in Winter about 16 until 22 degrees Celcius and in Summer not too hot with a temperature of about 30 degrees Celcius. The sun shines more than 300 days per year and the humidity is very low. This results in a perfect combination of sea and a subtropical climate.
On top of this the presence of salt lakes and stretches of pinewoods add to the healthy surroundings. All these elements together have an amazingly favorable effect on your health. Complaints such as rheumatism, gout or lung trouble can decrease substantially through the climatic influence of this region. In short, here you will find the best and healthiest climate of Spain. Recently the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the province of Murcia as having the cleanest air in Europe. Located opposite is a graph which shows the climate data of Murcia and surroundings.
